The Land Use and Transportation Chair of the Montavilla Neighborhood Association makes recommendations to the board on issues related to transportation, land use, livability, and long-range planning projects that affect our neighborhood. We also work on livability and placemaking projects to make Montavilla a better place to live.

MNA has given input on a new Affordable Housing Development going in at 74th & Glisan (The Old TBN building) by Oregon Metro. Oregon Metro has has conducted a focused outreach effort to help inform the project as it moves into future phases. The resulting document of those meetings along with the outreach survey results can be found at the link below.

The Architect and Developer have not been selected yet. The request for proposals will go out in early May with a due date for applications around mid July. The project isn’t starting construction for a few more years. Until then, the building is being temporarily leased to a local non-profit. You may recognize the non-profit African Youth & Community Organization (AYCO) from the February (2021) presentation to the MNA from the Founder and Executive Director Jamal Dar.
The Montavilla Neighborhood Association with be issuing a Vision statement to the Architect and Developer to help define some priorities of the neighbors around this development. We are planning to vote to issue in the next board meeting on 5/10/2021.
As of the February Board meeting the Montavilla Neighborhood has voted to start a Land Use Committee. More info to come! If you are interested please reach out the the Land Use and Transportation Chair at adam@montavillapdx.org

We are thankful to Jackson’s, who will be funding an art piece as a part of a newly constructed fueling and food mart! The MNA board has selected and is excited to be working with a local artist Hector H. Hernadez on the mosaic going in on the Northwest corner of 82nd and Glisan.
