The MNA Land Use and Transportation Committee grapples with design, livability, and land use issues in our neighborhood. We meet most months, the fourth Wednesday of the month, to discuss long-range planning issues or hyper-local land use cases, and recommend responses to the board. We also look for ways to improve our community through public art and placemaking activities. Check out the committee page.
The Public Safety Committee is a space where people can come learn about how to set up neighborhood watches on their street; hear more on safety-related concerns; and brainstorm new responses for old problems.
This group focuses on issues around trash and cleanup efforts. The committee oversees the Clean Montavilla community cleanup team. Members also interface with local businesses, City, County, and regional representatives around trash collection programs. sanitation@montavillapdx.org
The Outreach & Communications Committee strives to connect with the MNA membership and our Montavilla neighbors.
JOHS has requested to begin work on the creation of a Good Neighbor Agreement for the site and its partners. To complete this task, an Joint Advisory Committee has been formed in collaboration with the Montavilla and East Business Association (METBA). This committee is responsible for engaging with Montavilla neighbors and reporting back on what the community needs are for a Good Neighbor Agreement.
In the past, the MNA has had committees on housing and homelessness; parks; and other topics. Not seeing your passion represented? Consider joining the board and getting some new projects off the ground!
